Thousands of commuters pass through South Station daily, arriving by commuter rail, subway or bus from the suburbs. And now the innovative Silver Line will bring you directly to Fan Pier.

The Silver Line is not a bus; it’s a streamlined, satellite-connected, 60-passenger vehicle that gets where it’s going FAST. It avoids traffic by traveling almost exclusively underground, which means you can get from South Station to the Moakley Courthouse right on Fan Pier in minutes! The Silver Line leaves every five minutes during rush hour, every 10 to 15 minutes at other times. Going to Logan International Airport? The Silver Line makes the mile-and-a-half trip in no time... and stops at every major airline terminal.

To reach South Station:

Commuter rail lines come into South Station from all points West and South of Boston. Whether you’re coming from Wellesley or Worcester, Plymouth or Providence, the train or the T will bring you right to South Station. Add Amtrak Acela trains as well as both regional and national bus services and your point of origin can be almost anywhere in the country!

From South Station via the Silver Line:

  • Take the Silver Line Waterfront (SL 1, 2 or 3) one stop to the Courthouse Station (CHS). Proceed to ground level via stairs/escalators/elevators and exit onto Northern Avenue. You are on Fan Pier.
  • Leaves every five minutes during rush hour, every 10 to 15 minutes at off-peak times.
  • Two minutes from South Station to Courthouse Station

To Logan Airport via the Silver Line:

Take the Silver Line Waterfront SL1 from Courthouse Station directly to all terminals at Logan Airport. Less than 11–12 minutes from Courthouse Station to Terminal A! Daily, weekly and monthly passes are available, including link passes that include subways, buses and commuter boats. For more information, check www.mbta.com or call 617.222.3200.
